There are two main cores in the yoga studio: the first is the combination of office spaces and transit spaces, the second is a spacious yoga room with plenty of light and the possibility of dividing into two halls in the future by transformable partition. Since the area is small and there are many rooms, we wanted to erase the boundaries between them, both with the help of a single wall finish in the form of rough, uneven plaster, and with the help of a lighting design. In this project, we paid special attention to it, made our own light calculation in order to achieve the desired effects of mysterious glow and soft diffuse illumination of important surfaces. Practically nowhere do we see direct light sources, only faint luminous dots in the corridor, like the Milky Way, showing us the way to the main yoga hall. The main focus: torchlight fixtures, referring to traditional ways of lighting spaces, and luminous linen handmade hammocks. The idea of a woven layered ceiling arose almost immediately to create an enveloping atmosphere during practice, and the falling fabrics under their own weight allowed them to hide the light that gently penetrates through and does not dazzle during sitting or lying asanas. The light emphasized the texture of natural linen, and the waves of the ceiling create a rhythm and open up in different ways depending on the angle of view, which also enhances this effect of boundless space, expanding it. The curtains along the windows look deliberately like a theater curtain: firstly, in order to further envelop visitors in their cozy chamber space; secondly, to hide from the eyes of stranges, since this is the 1st floor, and thirdly, to intrigue passers-by to lift the veil of mystery. The project is literally handmade: hammocks are hand-sewn, wooden sliding doors are made by builders and the frame of mirrors is custom welded. Almost all doors are sliding, with curtains behind them, providing both privacy in the locker rooms and a multi-stage entrance through portals without the familiar doors, which enhances the effect of a space without borders. In the hallway, lobby and reception area, we see the usual grilled ceiling, but with the correct cell size and color, which turns the grilled ceiling into a cage, referring to the oriental style of China and Japan. Also, sliding partitions, decorative wooden elements on the walls in the form of crosshairs above the portals complete the Asian aesthetic. The space is filled with the mystery of Oriental and Indian practices, where everyone can come and immerse themselves in this enveloping atmosphere for one evening.
